Netflix spends a fortune on original content, and the results of a recent survey suggest that's money well spent.

The Morgan Stanley survey, as reported by Variety, has concluded that this streaming service is considered to be the best one in regards to original programming, followed by Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Hulu.

What the 2021 Morgan Stanley Survey Had to Say

Netflix continues to be the number one streaming service with the best (and probably most) original content. Last year’s survey suggested as much, and the one carried out this year by the same firm proves it.

According to 39 percent of the 3,100 adult respondents in the US that took part in this year’s survey, Netflix has the best original content from all of the streaming services available.

The 2021 Morgan Stanley survey consisted of more than 25 streaming services. The services that landed the spots after Netflix were Amazon Prime Video with 12 percent of the votes, Disney+ and Hulu with 7 percent each, followed by HBO Max, Apple TV+, Showtime, and Starz.

Also, in the survey, 23 percent of the respondents didn’t know which streaming service to choose, and 1 percent of the people said that some other streaming service that wasn’t on the list has the best original content.

Netflix's main focus has always been on creating a better content library. And according to its plans for 2021, Netflix will be releasing at least one original movie every single week through to the end of the year. Which, given how much money films take to make, will have required a huge investment.

The Streaming Competition Continues to Heat Up

While Netflix may be regarded as the streaming service with the best original content, it is witnessing stiff competition from the likes of Disney+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and many others. They are constantly fighting a battle and trying to win over subscribers one way or the other.

It’s even impossible to predict which streaming service will dominate the 2021 Oscars since each of them has been nominated multiple times.

Films and shows like The Crown, Malcolm & Marie, Bridgerton, Ginny & Georgia, Pieces of a Woman, and The Queen’s Gambit are just a few of those that are leading Netflix to victory, at least in the minds of viewers.
