Spotify is starting a new adventure by stepping into the metaverse with its launch of Spotify Island, a new Roblox world for fans to explore. The company is now the first music-streaming service to join Roblox.
This is a fun experience for everyone, not just Spotify users, as anyone who uses Roblox can visit the new Island.
Spotify Launches Spotify Island
In a post on For the Record, Spotify announced that it was launching Spotify Island on Roblox. The music-streaming company considers Spotify Island to be a "a paradise of sound"; a place where everyone, be it fans or artists, can hang out and explore sounds, quests, and exclusive merch.
It's a colorful space with plenty of activities. You won't get bored as there's always something to do in the fast-paced environment.
How to Get Spotify Island
To get Spotify Island, you have to follow a couple of steps. Thankfully, there's nothing too complicated.
- Start by launching Roblox.
- Type Spotify Island into the search bar.
- Click on Spotify Island to launch.
- Alternatively, visit the Spotify Island link if you're using your browser.
Once you enter the world, there are many things you can do to have fun.
What Can You Do on Spotify Island?
This is a new type of space for popular gaming platform, Roblox, where fans can hang out and create music, get merchandise, and more. As soon as you enter Spotify Island, there's background music you can play and pause as you please. Keep in mind that once you approach certain musical areas, you will hear sound in the background, even if you paused the main track.
Since this is a game, you can also collect things. On the one hand, you have to collect music notes, while on the other, you need to collect hearts. The more hearts you collect by moving around the island, the more areas you'll get to unlock.
While the island is free to roam, you'll need extra hearts to unlock certain areas and, with those areas, new experiences. Furthermore, the more points you collect, the more you'll climb the charts.
Cool areas are set up across the island where users can create their own music and sounds. Beat-maker stations powered by Soundtrap can be found across the Island. The more players present, the more fun you'll have bumping into the buttons in the cave, for instance.
The Future of Spotify Island
Spotify Island will act as a base for future experiences Spotify has planned. Later on, as more islands will be introduced, you'll enter Spotify Island and portal to K-Park, for instance, an homage to all things K-Pop.
More themed experiences are planned for the future, but K-Park is the first we can expect to see. In K-Park, fans will get to interact with artists like Stray Kids and SUNMI.

In-game virtual merchandise will be available from various artists that will have online meetings with fans. Since you will be able to interact with actual artists on these Islands, it's important to note that a portion of the sales will go back to the artists themselves.
