- Ccleaner (pay attention to the startup tool)- Deffragler or anything that allows you to defragment only the folders of the most used apps- clean system re-install every now and then if you have the habit of over-customizingAlso, every now and then you can just look at your task manager in the processes tab and see if any processes use an unexpected amount of memory.

Yep, CCleaner with CEnhancer is my nr. 1, too. Sometimes I go mad about cleaning my PC, so I use (and recommend) the following software:Jv16 Power Tools (its older but free version), PureRA, JavaRA, System Ninja, Wise PC Engineer...

The tool uses the winapp2.ini system built into CCleaner to easily add new rules and definitions for programs. The rules were sourced mainly from the Piriform Support Forum, with several sourced from other places around the internet. Directly download the winapp2.ini file

Without a single doubt, TuneUp Utilities. From your boot screen to disk defragmentation, to a reliable file shredder, it has everything. Can even boost your computer quickly with 1-Click Maintenance Button. Not a freeware, but still the best, definitely.

Not a free ware, that's the only reason I did not include it, I have tried it, it did not help the performance or speed, but it surely solves potential errors, you can delete a folder without uninstalling a software, and tune up can manage the rest.http://www.glaryutilities.com is a free software, provides many features of tune up.

Hello, to keep your computer running in good shape, I would start by reading the .pdf file on the following link.  Keep in mind that you could download the file if you want:http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/download-windows-on-speed-ultimate-pc-acceleration-manual/The best part about it is that by going to the following link, you can find pretty mucho all the software used in the article above:http://www.makeuseof.com/pages/best-windows-software

I tried Soluto and wasn't too impressed. It didn't seem to contribute very much and in fact it actually slowed down my computer in some areas. Maybe it's worked for others, but it can't do anything that I can't do manually.Have you had a good experience with it?

Hi Aaron,I typically don't keep it installed, to be honest. I use it to identify troublesome applications and add-ons, then I remove/disable them (myself) and remove Soluto. It's not supposed to boost performance, only diagnose performance issues.
