1) Why does a website or a mail service asks for certificates?

2) What are different types of certificates?

Can somebody give me a detailed information on this topic and how to resolve this problem if a browser constantly asking for a certificate for a website or eMail account?

Hello a certificate is an electronic document that uses a digital signature which pairs a public key with an identity. Certificates are used to make sure that a key belongs to a specific user/organization. For more info, visit the following link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_key_certificate
