Draw Something is the current darling of the mobile games industry, having achieved huge popularity around the world in a short space of time. In fact, it’s been crowned the fastest-growing mobile game of all time thanks to 50 million downloads in its first 50 days of being available. Zynga saw so much potential there it bought the company behind the game just to get its hands on this one title.

Today’s Stuff to Watch will focus on the geekiest of geeky films. What Is Social Engineering? [MakeUseOf Explains]

You can install the industry’s strongest and most expensive firewall. You can educate employees about basic security procedures and the importance of choosing strong passwords. You can even lock-down the server room – but how do you protect a company from the threat of social engineering attacks? From a social engineering perspective, employees are the weak link in the chain of security measures in place.

7 Awesome Google Chrome Promo Videos

Google Chrome has come from nowhere to be the third most-popular web browser in the world. It’s rapidly catching up to Firefox, which is currently sitting in second place behind the omnipresent Internet Explorer from Microsoft. How on earth has it achieved such a feat? By being new and different, and offering speed and efficiency above all else. At least in its early days.

5 Things I’ve Learned About Internet Behavior Through My SEO Work

I have a criteria of about 8 to 10 items that I personally look for when I do SEO analysis, but of course one of the most important is search volume. Having monitored the search volume for thousands of different phrases over the course of time, I have come to recognize a few very large, not insignificant patterns in how humanity around the world tends to use the Internet – or at least how they use the search engines.

The Google logo is recognized the world over. It’s a logo that many people see on a daily basis as they make the Google homepage their first port of call in exploring the wider web. It’s simple and yet iconic at the same time. But no one wants to see the same old logo staring back at them every time they search for something online, do they? Google doesn’t think so.

PDF – The World’s Digital Document [INFOGRAPHIC]

I absolutely love PDF files as they are very practical. They’re easy to read, you can encrypt them, sign them, split, rotate and watermark them, merge them, and navigating a PDF is effortless. In fact, you don’t really need the very expensive Adobe Acrobat because there are lots of services out there that will create PDF files for you (Office 2007 for example offers on-the-fly PDF creation of all Word files).

I hate to admit it but I’m a little addicted to Angry Birds. I know many people hate the game in all its different iterations – it’s for casual gamers, it sucks, it’s pointless – but I just can’t get enough. I know why this is so, having explored the reasons Angry Birds is so addictive in a previous article, but that hasn’t helped. Never mind. There are worse things to be addicted to.

Lytro Light Field Camera: Snap Happy Or Photo Gimmick?

Described by an employee as “the first major change in photography since photography was invented”, the Lytro light-field camera is certainly a revolutionary device. The camera shakes things up by replacing much of the heavy and sensitive technology in your typical camera with software. Whether or not it’s worth your hard earned money at this stage is still unclear, however.

What I Think About DSLR Video

If there’s one thing that I know, it’s that DSLR video production is here to stay. As a DSLR-owner, I’ve finally succumbed to the new wave of production, and I can’t complain too much (though I can complain). With that being said, I’d like to give you just a quick overview as to what I personally think about DSLRs. I have both my pros and cons about them.

5 Microsoft Video Ads Sure To Make You Cringe

I have ripped on Apple quite a bit here on MakeUseOf in recent weeks. Partly because a company of that size and stature deserves to get taken down a peg or two from time to time, partly to counter the weight of Apple fanboys on the Web, and partly because, well, it’s fun, quite frankly. However, in the spirit of fairness there are other tech giants ripe for a little gentle ribbing.

4 Reasons I’m Glad I Own A Netbook And Not A Tablet [Opinion]

A key argument is that tablets are killing the “netbook” market. I can see that: if you want a small device with great battery life for browsing the web it’s hard to beat a tablet. I, however, am thrilled to own a netbook instead of a tablet. Am I crazy? Probably, but that’s unrelated. Here’s why I’ve no regrets with my netbook purchase.

What Is The Difference Between A Worm, A Trojan & A Virus? [MakeUseOf Explains]

Some people call any type of malicious software a “computer virus,” but that isn’t accurate. Viruses, worms, and trojans are different types of malicious software with different behaviors. In particular, they spread themselves in very different ways. Malicious software in general is referred to as “malware.” If you want a catch-all term for bad computer software, malware is the word to use.
