I want to capture an application window and I need the window which is captured to show as active. The result should show the window is working.

You mean I have tested it on acd see version 9..it captured active window.[Broken Link Removed]go to tools and screen capture. and select your options.I tested on windows, but I think mac will be similar.I think most softwares should do what you want to do., capturing window will appear active.recently lot of them were mentioned here.http://www.makeuseof.com/answers/capture-contents-window-bigger-screen/
