The first Samsung event of 2023 is officially announced, and it's set to unveil the highly anticipated Galaxy S23 series alongside other Samsung products. Naturally, many are curious to know the release date and official price of the handsets. In this article, we'll tell you how to watch the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event and what you can expect from it.

How to Watch the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 Event

Unlike the last few years, Samsung will host an in-person Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, February 1 at 10:00 am PT (6 pm in the UK; 11:30 pm in India).

The event will be held at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco and streamed live on the Samsung YouTube channel, at Samsung.com, and on the company's Newsroom portal.

The Galaxy S23 Series Will Launch at Galaxy Unpacked 2023

We already have a pretty good idea of the upgrades the Galaxy S23 series will bring. One of those upgrades is a new 200MP main camera for the Galaxy S23 Ultra that is expected to deliver significantly better low-light performance and zoom capabilities. The S23 Ultra will use pixel binning technology to offer three different resolutions: 12MP, 50MP, and 200MP.

The base Galaxy S23 and S23+ will get a small design refresh, but the S23 Ultra will retain the overall design of its predecessor. Official images leaked to the German site WinFuture show off the devices. The look is very similar from the front, but you can see the new camera design at the back.

All Galaxy S23 models will get the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in all regions; Samsung is ditching Exynos due to its consistently poor performance against Snapdragon. This is good news for buyers in Europe and India who usually get Exynos variants of the Samsung flagships.

According to leaks, the S23+ and S23 Ultra will have a base storage of 256GB, and all models will start at 8GB RAM. The specs for all three models are purported to have leaked in full on Twitter.

Info regarding pricing is still not concrete, but insiders claim that the handsets will cost the same as the Galaxy S22 series, at least in the US; other regions could see a price hike. Leaks suggest four color options: Phantom Black, Cotton Flower, Botanic Green, and Misty Lilac.

What Else Might We See?

Other than the Galaxy S23 series, we will probably also see the Galaxy Book 3 series. We know this because Samsung is offering up to $100 in store credit if you reserve an unspecified Galaxy Book laptop and a Galaxy smartphone on the official site.

Rumors suggest that Samsung will unveil a new "Ultra" class of Galaxy Book, namely the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. Given the ambition of the Ultra branding, we're expecting the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra to be the best all-purpose Windows laptop of 2023, but that's something reviewers will be able to judge better.

Once pre-orders open, you can use your Samsung store credit to knock down the price of your new Galaxy phone and laptop, in addition to getting a bundled gift such as the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro or Galaxy Watch 5. If you don't care about the laptop, you can still reserve a Galaxy smartphone and get a $50 store credit instead.

The Best of Samsung Is Almost Here

Samsung releases new products throughout the year, and its Galaxy S series enjoys the most attention. If you're an enthusiast or are looking to upgrade to a new phone, you should definitely watch the Galaxy Unpacked event this February to see all the improvements Samsung has been working on behind the scenes.

Alongside the S23 series, we are also looking forward to seeing other Samsung products this year such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, the Galaxy A54, and more.
