Several Samsung Galaxy devices have received the May security update. If you own one of the phones that have received the patch, you're definitely going to want to update as soon as possible. Keeping your phone updated with the latest security enhancements is incredibly important.

What Does The May Update Do?

The primary purpose of this update is to bring the security of your device forward with all the latest enhancements, which is critical.

However, according to SamMobile, the update actually improves the Camera and Quick Share functions of the phone. Samsung didn't go into specifics, though. Instead, the patch notes for the update says that "The performance of Camera has been improved," and "Enhanced Quick Share." We'll have to wait until the update rolls out all over the world before we can know for sure what it does to the Camera and Quick Share.

Which Phones Have The May Update?

So far, only two phones have received the update. First, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra in Germany has the update.

After rolling out the update to the flagship, Samsung also pushed the 1.2GB May update to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

As Samsung is already rolling out the update, we'd expect the list of devices to improve rapidly, so if you don't see it on your device, make sure to keep checking so you can keep your device current.
