I have been considering to use Google groups to send mass email to subgroups within a larger database of subscribers.
The process seems extremely simple, but it seems from what I have read that Google does not monitor your subscriptions in any way, but will treat your group email just as if they were sent through an external provider.
Since I will need to create a mail group for each email I sent (recipients are overlapping but not identical) and Google does in no way monitor the fact that they are valid subscribers, could my actions be interpreted as a signal for spam. Do I need to take any specific precautions, except an unsubscribe link, of course?

Simply moderate your Google Group and in the pending message queue eliminate all spam messages and ban the sender. Then set to group to private, all messages moderated and people must ask for an invitation to join. Since I will always send email to a sub-group of my subscribers I will need to make a google gropu for each campaign. And, since Google is not in any way involved in the subscription process I fear they will see thia as spam.I am considering some of the options you mentioned but I would have prefereed Googlw, since it seems extremely easy to implement.
