I have a video file I shot in portrait. Now whenever it plays the fireworks all go off sideways. I need to rotate the whole file. Is there a program that can do this easily and/or for free? I have downloaded some, only to find there is not obvious way to do this.

Thanks everyone. I've been rather busy but had a brief crack at Tina's suggestion. When I get time I'd like to explore the other options suggested. It sure beats watching the fireworks shoot sideways - or turning the monitor 90 degrees!

If you use Windows, I recommend Freemake Video Converter (FVC after this, too long to type). It does wonderful jobs (for me) converting plethora of video formats. If you have CUDA supported nVidia based graphics card, FVC does support CUDA technology. The only downside is, it needs .Net Framework v4, but FVC will download and install it automatically if it doesn't detect the framework in your system. Hope this helps

Hello, virtualdub can do that for you. The only downside is that virtualdub only works on .avi and mpg files. Virtualdub works on xp, vista and windows 7.Get virtualdub here:http://www.virtualdub.org/download.htmlTo rotate the video, do the following:-- double click on virtualdub.exe-- click run-- click file >> open video file-- browse to your file-- once open go to video >> choose filters-- click on add-- look for the rotate filter-- select how you want the video rotate it-- click ok-- under the video setting, make sure it is set to full processing mode-- under video setting, select compression-- pick avi or mpg-- under file click save as avi-- browse to where you want the file saved-- click ok-- It should give you a preview of the file and just wait until if finishes processing Hope it helps--
