Roku is continuing its push into the broader smart home ecosystem with an inexpensive way to protect your home. We’ll highlight the new product from the steaming pioneer.

Roku Smart Home Monitoring System SE Is Expandable and Low Cost

Roku, via a press release, has unveiled the Smart Home Monitoring System SE.

The $99 system offers five pieces. Two entry sensors will let you know via smartphone notifications if a door or window is opened, closed, or left open.

With a motion sensor, you can see when motion is detected and automatically turn on a light. An adjustable setting in the Roku Smart Home app for iOS or Android will also allow you to adjust a setting so pets can be ignored.

Located in the system’s hub is a siren that can help scare off intruders or inform others of an emergency.

A keypad allows you to arm or disarm the system, change modes, or manually sound the siren. It can also be armed or disarmed with the app.

The system is also expandable so you can add pieces later.

You can choose to self-monitor the system for no charge. But Roku is also offering 24/7 professional monitoring from Noonlight. Where an alarm is triggered, you can receive an immediate response from an agent. You can also request assistance with one tap on the app or keypad.

Professional monitoring is $9.99 monthly or $99.99 yearly. Yearly subscribers will receive 50 percent off their first year.

You can order the Roku Smart Home Monitoring System SE now from Roku. It will also be available at Walmart stores and the Walmart site on May 15, 2023.

Roku also announced additional TV integration with the monitoring system and other products introduced in 2022 including cameras and smart lights.

With the home monitoring system, you will be able to see an alarm countdown and on-screen notification when the system is armed and triggered.

You will also be able to access previous recordings, along with a live view, from the cameras on your TV screen.

Roku smart home devices can now also be controlled with a voice command to the Roku remote or mobile app.
