I somehow, despite anti-virus and anti malware programs, picked up the happili virus. I think it is why I keep getting error 1606 every time I try to update my java and flash player.

How do I get rid of it? Will it cause any other type of damage?

Hello, you could try the following:-- Download the following free software:Rkill: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ Try to download the iExplore.exe version. What this software does is render the virus inactive so that you can clean without any problems. If the virus will not let you download the software, use somebody else's computer and download the file to a USB drive. Once downloaded, make sure to copy the program to your desktop. To run the program just double click on it.SUPERANTISPYWARE: http://www.superantispyware.com/Try to download the portable version. It can run from a flashdrive. It does not need to be updated. Once downloaded and installed, run a full scan and make sure to delete any entries found.MALWAREBYTES: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/Download the free version of malwarebytes and install it in your system. This needs to be updated. Run a complete scan and delete any entries found.-- Run a full scan with your antivirus of choice. If any entries are found, make sure to delete them.Once the full scans are run, you could run superantispyware again. If it finds nothing and reports the system clean, then make sure to delete all your system restore points. This is to prevent your system to be reinfected again. Create a new restore point with a clean system.Keep in mind that some viruses will not let you run antimalware software. If that is the case, you could try the same procedure in safemode. To access safemode, restart your computer and keep pressing the F8 key. When you see a black screen with safemode written in every corner you are in safemode and you will have several choices. If you need to access internet, you can select safemode with networking. If not just safemode.Hope it helps.

To remove:Use some sort of Anti-Malware/Anti-Virus. A few recommendations:IObit Malware Fighter, Avast, Comodo, AVG FreeIt is hard finding information about this virus (unless you experience it first hand), but there have been reports of unwanted email blasts to your contacts and rerouting you to unintended websites. But as a tip, ANY virus on your computer is something you don't really want at all :DHope it helps!

Here's one way to completly remove it:1.) If you're computer is clickjacking or redirecting to happili/givemeanswers you may have this infection, there are some other symptoms out there but these were the ones specific to my case.2.) Have a thumbdrive readily available, you're going to need to download a few tools to get things started3.) Download these tools to thumbdrivehttp://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363http://www.malwarecity.com/com.....howfile=34 (32 bit only)http://www.superantispyware.co.....anner.htmlhttp://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds (portable version)4.)Also make sure you have some other malware/virus detection software for after the use of the above tools, I used microsoft security essentials (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials)5.) Reboot computer in to safe mode with networking, on most computers this is done by hitting the F5 key during the boot process. If not do a quick google on how to get in to safe mode with networking on your machine.6.) Now that you're in safe mode turn off your wi-fi adapter7.) Run TDSSKILLER first, after that IF ON A 32BIT SYSTEM run the zero-access removal tool, and then finally fin Superantispyware (Make sure to select complete scan, and have it scan all partitions on the HD)8.)While I'm not sure if this matters, during the process of these tools running I removed all internet browsers from my computer besides internet explorer.9.) After these tools are done running use CCleaner, run the actual cleaner tab first, and then run the registry cleaner tab (make a back up to your thumbdrive)10.) Once in windows you must make sure your virus/malware program is up to date, disable your wi-fi adapter again and run a full scan11.) Again run Ccleaner after the fact12.)Lastly create a notepad file, name it flushdns.batCopy and paste this in to the file and make sure to save it with the .bat extension@Echo onpushd\windows\system32\drivers\etcattrib -h -s -r hostsecho 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTSattrib +r +h +s hostspopdipconfig /releaseipconfig /renewipconfig /flushdnsnetsh winsock reset allnetsh int ip reset allshutdown -r -t 1del %013.) Run the file you just created, it will force a restart flush your dns cache./ip confingurations.14.) At this point you can run one more full scan on your computer just to make sure its clean, if the scan comes up clean you should be in the clear :)
