hello .follow what other answerers have mentioned , and i would like to add , you can Root your Android device and then control the CPU voltages and the CPU clock frequencies . Overclock or Underclock it .it helps in a big way in controlling the CPU performance , enhancing the battery life and keeping an eye on the CPU temperatures , keeping the device cool .there are many ways to do it , but only after you Root your device .this app is one of the easy ways --- SetCPU https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking&feature=search_result

Well manufacturer mistake, overloading with applications, RAM going crazy and CPU heating, firmware corruption. Delete all extra applications, hard reset, reinstall applications and see if the things will go in the right direction.

Basically everything you do will heat up the device, using WiFi/3G, surfing the web, running Apps, ... There are a lot of electronic parts stuffed into a small (almost) closed case therefor it's predestined to heat up at some point.I suggest to install all available updates for both Android and the Apps you have installed to make sure there is no bug causing some background process to loop or otherwise stress the hardware. One option not to be ignored could be a faulty or damaged battery. But considering the costs this might be only a last resort option. In general during use:Run only those things you really need. Don't have those 10 programs you use once a day or so running in the background all the time.Another thing having to do with the above are emails. If you read your emails once a day you should consider turning off automatic download or
push
functionality and have them downloaded manually only when you plan to actually read them.Take short breaks during
heavy
use like playing games or while doing a lot of internet surfing which heats up the WiFi/3G chip.As a last step you might have to turn your device off once in a while to cool down.
