I bought a refurbished Acer laptop which had Windows 7 installed. However I had some problems which started when I tried to upgrade Internet Explorer 9 to 11.

It failed to install, so I tried to correct it but because my knowledge of PCs is extremely limited I thought it would be easier to use my son's copy of Windows 7 not realizing that I would need a copy of my product code. Unfortunately, the product code isn't on my PC.

Now I am told that I am using a pirated copy. I have tried to restore to a previous time but I still cannot go back to my original version of Windows 7.
