I have a 1 GB microSD card that stopped working on my phone and it will not show up on any computer adapter I use. What can I do because I don't want to lose the files I have in there.

My card is not just corrupted, its somehow physically damaged. It doesn't show up in GParted and it won't mount at all. In dmesg, i get: mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising SD cardI've read that I can crack open the case and resolder the contacts but then I wouldn't be able to use the card after that because the case would be broken...Am I completely screwed here?

Bericp,it sounds pretty hopeless. If you urgently need the data on your SD card, you can maybe have it recovered by a professional service. Which one you should turn to depends on the country you live in.

Hello, chances are your memory card got corrupted. There have been question similar to that before. I would say you will probably need to see if you can recover the files. You could start by using Recuva:http://www.piriform.com/recuva

I have had good luck with gparted or disk utility in Mint, they have seen SD cards & usb drives that other programs could not recognize.I have recovered data, then reformat so that the drives were usable again. You can use a live Mint or Ubuntu CD or DVD.
