A friend of mine told me about http://prezi.com where you can make awesome shows. The thing is that it is not entirely free and also has some limitations.

Keeping in mind that I don't want to spend anything for now, can someone suggest me a site, software, or service similar to this, which is free? Or how I can make such presentations?

I have the basic software etc.

Thanks for the HELP, in advance!

Yeah, I just started using Sozi and it is great. Really easy to learn, and its free. Exports in SVG files (which any browser can see, except some old versions of IE) rather than flash(which Prezi uses), so you don't have to log into to a website or worry about devices that don't work with FlashYou can make a presentation in about 10 minutes.

Try Sozi : http://sozi.baierouge.fr/wiki/doku.php?id=soziSozi is based on open standards. It is free software distributed according to the terms of the GPL 3.0.

Is sozi only open for public or can I have an option not to share it?

It's neither, unless you have a Dropbox. If you have a Dropbox, post the file in DRPBX/Public and share the link on some blog of yours to make it public. Otherwise, I'm afraid it's all don't share to t'Internet, no questions asked :D

A lot of presentation web apps have gone paid now, though they offer good options in their free accounts. There's Ahead which is a similar presentation creation suite with the zooming features and offers free accounts. There are other pretty fully-featured web-based solutions such as SlideRocket (click here for a summary of its features,) and 280 Slides (read here for a summary) which offer free accounts (somewhat limited like in Prezi). You could also try creating presentations in Zoho Show , Google Docs , Live-Documents , Office Live (part of Microsoft Web Apps ) and OpenOffice Impress though they're not known for creating stunning presentations.

I haven't heard of any Prezi clones, but you could try converting a Powerpoint presentation into Flash. There are many tools available for the same.http://www.wikihow.com/Convert-PowerPoint-to-Flash-Using-Open-Source-ToolsAlso, if you want to summarize large chunks of data, you have to give Tableau a shot.www.tableau.com
