I have recently started a university computer course and need to do a one hour teaching session on a new software programme. Unfortunately, I am on last and all the cool programs have been covered.

Can anyone recommend a new piece of software I can deliver a session on? Prezi; Xtranormal; cloud computing; Xerte; etc. have all been done. Ideas please!

If hardware/software combo is also an option, how about Arduino?

Hi Lisa,Is Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) covered?  If not then check out http://www.w3.org/Math/"MathML is a low-level specification for describing mathematics as a basis for machine to machine communication which provides a much needed foundation for the inclusion of mathematical expressions in Web pages. It is also important in publishing workflows for science and technology and wherever mathematics has to be handled by software"A variety of implementations of MathML are available check them out here http://www.w3.org/Math/implementations.htmlcheck Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) Version 3.0 For more info you can refer to their website..:)

How about The Cloud?   Where does all that stuff go?  How does it work?  How safe is all of your material?   Should you still backup?

Doing a presentation using Prezi showing how Prezi works is not a bad idea. The first time some people are shown Prezi in action they are very impressed.

How about which browser to use? Not Explorer 9, obviously ;DAside from that, what Tina said: Gmail, along with Google docs, very handy as a student, use it to collaborate, share documents and more. There's enough functionality to easily fill an hour.

Is Gmail something you could present? There are a lot of options and features in Gmail that most people don't know about. Apart from native functions, you can also enable Gmail Labs features and install browser plugins to drastically enhance Gmail. Just browse MakeUseOf articles for some ideas.
