On December 13, 2021, YouTube TV announced that it could be forced to remove Disney-owned channels in a few days from its platform as both parties were unable to reach a common ground in their negotiations.

Google wanted Disney to treat YouTube TV just like any other TV provider and offer it the same rates as them. That did not happen, and YouTube TV removed all Disney-owned channels from its platform on December 17, 2021.

To make up for the removal of channels, YouTube TV lowered its monthly base package price by $15/month—from $64.99 to $49.99. The new rates were going to be effective until access to Disney-owned channels was again restored on the platform.

Disney Channels Are Back on YouTube TV

Less than 48 hours after all this drama, though, YouTube TV announced that it had reached a deal with Disney, so all channels owned by the latter will again be available on the live streaming service.

The return of the channels also means that YouTube TV is again restoring its old price of $64.99 per month. However, to honor its promise of a $15 discount until Disney channels remain unavailable on the platform, YouTube TV will offer a one-time credit to all its Base plan subscribers.

One-Time $15 Credit Applicable for All YouTube TV Subscribers

The one-time $15 credit will be applicable for all YouTube TV subscribers. Don't worry if you don't see the monthly credit in this month's bill, as it will be automatically added to the next bill.

YouTube TV is also honoring the credit for subscribers who decided to cancel their subscription following the removal of Disney-owned channels. Just resume your subscription again, and a one-time $15 discount will automatically reflect in your next bill.

The bill in your YouTube TV Settings will only show this one-time credit once you have paid for the subscription. Subscribers who pay for YouTube TV via Verizon will receive this $15 discount in their next bill.

In case you paused your YouTube TV subscription, the credit will be applied to your account one month after you pay the first bill.
