Some articles I enjoy reading online are too long to read in one sitting. What's the best way to bookmark where I am to so at a later stage I can continue from where I left off?

Maybe you can save the long articles in local with Bookmark Flash .

The only thing I can think about is clicking on the
Evernote clipper bookmarklet
or the
GmailThis bookmarklet
and just copying/clipping the rest that you haven't read. These bookmarklets automatically pick up the web link of the original article if you ever want to go back.

I just discovered www.pdfmyurl.com. When I see an article I want to read I usually don't want to read it right then anyway so I convert it into a PDF, save it in my PDF folder and read it later. When it's too long for one reading or I want/need to interrupt I just make some sort of mark (a few asterisks or whatever), re-save it and come back later to continue.

I use XMarks (xmarks.com) and have a bookmark folder "Open". When I run across an interesting article and cannot complete it (lets say at work), I add it as a Bookmark to the Open folder. Xmarks syncs the Bookmarks across all my computers, so when I have time, I go to any of my computers (lets say at home) and then Look the Open Bookmarks folder. Well, the issue of going to the exact location is still an issue, but I didn't felt its need yet.

If you're using Firefox, try the App Tabs add-on (
[Broken Link Removed]
). This faviconizes the tab and pins it at the left-hand side of your tabbar, so you come back to the tab at the same point you left it.

You could always copy the whole thing into a word or notepad document, then delete what you have already read. This would also allow you to reformat it so it is easier to read, size, margins, font, etc.

I use instapaper to save the pages on computer and read them during free time especially in iPod.

I personally use Readbag - http://readbag.com/ - I think the simpler, the better, with a service like this. You can also find a few more suggestions in this MUO post [Broken Link Removed]

Maybe this won't help you, but I simply leave the tab open.

I don't know whether you can bookmark the exact location on a page, but you can try using ReadItLater to come back to articles later. Here's a MUO post on the same:http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/get-the-awesome-read-it-later-extension-for-firefox-3/
