If you don't have a PS5, you're definitely not alone. Anyone who wants one knows that getting one is a near-impossible feat right now (unless you're willing to pay a ridiculous amount to buy one off a scalper), but that might change in a few months!

The Hunt for a PS5 Might Get Easier This Summer

While in a Zoom call with the folks over at Wired, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said that the company hopes to speed production up over the summer and well into the rest of 2021.

Ryan, naturally, was pretty excited to boast about how the PlayStation 5 is the fastest selling console in US history. However, in the same breath, he also felt the need to apologize for how difficult it is to get your hands on one.

We’re working as hard as we can to ameliorate that situation. We see production ramping up over the summer and certainly into the second half of the year, and we would hope to see some sort of return to normality in terms of the balance between supply and demand during that period.

Surprisingly enough, the lacking supply of PS5 consoles hasn't hurt its performance when compared to its predecessor, the PlayStation 4.

According to Sony, from the PS5's launch in November 2020 to the end of March 2021, PS5 owners have spent 81 percent more time on their console than early PS4 owners did during its first months on the market.
