We suspect Apple's next event is just around the corner and, unlike WWDC a couple of months ago, this one usually focuses primarily on hardware announcements. In fact, this will likely be the biggest event for Apple this year, since it typically revolves around the company's most popular product lineups.

If you're someone who keeps up with Apple's product launches, you probably have an idea of what's coming, as this particular event occurs annually. So, let's take a look at the four announcements we expect to see at the Apple event this September.

1. The iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro

If previous years are any indicator, Apple events in September usually revolve around the iPhone. So the fact that we expect an announcement of the next iPhone at Apple's September event should come as no surprise to you. Many industry speculators are anticipating major upgrades with the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro models.

Although the design is likely to remain similar to the iPhone 12 series, industry speculators expect the new iPhones to sport a smaller notch, for the first time since its introduction in the iPhone X. Rumors also claim a slightly larger camera layout and bump, likely to accommodate bigger sensors.

In terms of hardware, industry experts believe the iPhone 13 Pro models will finally feature a 120Hz display, which should bring it up to par with flagship Android devices. According to rumors, Apple will likely introduce a 1TB storage variant for the iPhone 13 Pro models, but you should expect it to come at a hefty premium.

2. The Apple Watch Series 7

Just like the iPhone, Apple also introduces a new Apple Watch series every year. So a reveal of the Apple Watch Series 7 is another safe bet for this event. Industry speculators expect a major redesign of the Apple Watch this year, which would be exciting news since Apple hasn't changed its look since the original model.

According to rumors, the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature a flatter body similar to the current crop of iPhones and iPads. Beside this design change, industry experts believe that the Apple Watch Series 7 will feature a slightly larger screen and come in 41mm and 45mm sizes. These changes alone seem good enough to tempt existing Apple Watch users to upgrade.

3. New iPad Models

We don't expect Apple to replace the M1-powered iPad Pro anytime soon, but we haven't seen anything new from the budget iPads in a long time. According to rumors, Apple will be announcing a redesigned iPad mini 6 that'll look similar to the iPad Air from 2020. As a result of this change, you can expect the iPad mini 6 to sport a larger display.

Additionally, industry experts claim that Apple will be updating the budget 10.2-inch iPad at the September event. We don't anticipate any design changes for Apple's cheapest iPad, but you can expect hardware improvements, like a better processor and a laminated display.

4. Third-Generation AirPods

Can you believe that the second-generation Apple AirPods came out nearly two and a half years ago? Well, it looks like Apple might be finally updating its popular wireless headphones, and we're expecting a design change this year.

According to industry speculators, the AirPods 3 will feature a shorter stem, just like the more expensive AirPods Pro, but will lack the silicon ear tips and noise cancellation features. This is great news since many people found the long stem on the original AirPods a bit off putting.

Apple's September Event Is Packed With Hardware Launches

Apple doesn't change the design of its products often, but it looks like this event will showcase multiple products with major design changes. So there's every reason to be excited about it. Whether you're an Apple fan or a tech enthusiast, the company's annual event in September has always been something to look forward to. Even without a new MacBook, Apple's hardware line-up is looking like it will be really impressive this year.
