LG has announced the availability and pricing of its sound bars for 2021. The company stated that it has four models up for sale now—SP9YA, SP8YA, SP7Y and the SP2. Another model, the SPD7Y, will be launched in June.

Some LG Sound Bars Come With Dolby Atmos Support

According to a press release on PR Newswire, the SP9YA, SP8YA, and SPD7Y sound bars come with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. In addition to this, LG's high-end sound bars also support voice assistants and streaming technology including Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Chromecast built-in and Apple AirPlay 2.

These sound bars also come with HDMI eARC connectivity for higher quality playback and more convenience. Users can also opt to use USB or Bluetooth audio streaming.

LG's new sound bars will also feature Meridian Audio tuning and Meridian technology for a better listening experience. LG's partnership with Meridian Audio will result in the addition of many new features, one of which includes the Meridian Horizon technology:

When the sound bar is in Music Mode, this innovation up-mixes two channel stereo content into immersive, multichannel audio to provide audiences with a truly immersive listening experience regardless of their location in the room.

When paired with LG TVs, the sound bars can also make use of the AI Sound Pro feature to deliver "superior audio processing power." Using deep learning technology, AI Sound Pro can automatically adjust sound levels depending on the genre of content users are viewing or listening to.

Furthermore, AI features such as AI Room Calibration (offered on the SP9YA and the SP8yA) use spatial awareness to optimize sound according to the environment you're in.

Users can also switch between sound modes on the sound bars using LG TV remotes.

LG Is Taking an Eco-Friendly Approach to Product Development

The press release also highlights LG's steps towards a "more eco-minded approach to product development, packaging and shipping of its 2021 sound bars."

LG's new sound bars are the first audio products to receive the Eco Product Certification from Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS). This was achieved because LG used "recycled materials, featuring jersey fabric made of recycled PET bottles."

Additionally, the company went for a more eco-friendly packaging of its sound bars. The packaging was made using recycled molded pulp and has substantially less EPS foam and plastic. The packaging was also designed in an "L" shape that allows more units to fit in a single truck, thus reducing CO2 emissions even further.
