What should I look for in a Pocket Hard drive?

This refers to the file system the drive is formatted in.This shouldn't effect your purchase decision since you can alway reformat the drive to a File System that suits your needs (details below).FAT32 is a more universal file systemYou can read from and write to it from almost any operating system (and devices like a STB, HDD Recorder etc.) e.g. OSX, Windows, Linux, even DOS. The only limitation being that singles files cannot exceed a size of 4GB.NTFS on the other hand is Windows proprietaryAs long as you are using Windows there will be no problems using this file system.Mac OS X and Linux by default can only read from it, write support is experimental although proven to be reliable

I guess the most important points ~besides the prize~ are the drive space, physical size and weight. Then you should also take a look at the warranty and accessories. Some drives come with only 2 years manufacturer warranty while others offer 5 years or more. As for accessories you probably want to know what cables are included (types & length) and software like backup tools etc.

Thanks for the reply. One more question, what the difference between FAT32 & NTFS?
