So my 11 year old nephew is going crazy over Minecraft and wants to play it. No disrespect to the fan of this game, but I have no idea what, how, or where to get and play it. So how can I get Minecraft for my nephew? Do you play it online or offline? Can one download it, or buy it at a store? Please pardon my ignorance, but I'm more into BF, RE or COD, but not Minecraft ;)

You can buy the game from minecraft.net, where you can also find the free classic version. It is a download, I think it costs $20. It is both online and offline. There is singleplayer, which is by yourself offline; and there is multiplayer, thus online. You are a blocky person named steve. The world is made of blocks. It is basically a sandbox. The controls are as follows; w=walk forward, a=walk left, s=walk backward, d=walk right, left mouse=Attack, right mouse=Place/Use/Open Blocks or items, F3+F=Fog. There's a lot more to the game, but just wanted to give you a general description of it. Check out minecraftwiki.net for more information.

you can buy the game at this site http://minecraft.net/You can play minecraft both online and offline, but you should start with a peaceful/easy singleplayer to get the hang of things (crafting, survival in general, etc.)Online is more fun IMO, but griefing/theft does occur ocasionally...

And also do check out www.minecraftwiki.net/ for additional information about the game itself.

You can play Minecraft Classic online for free, or try the demo. You can download the full game for PC or Xbox 360. Or you can download the pocket version for iOS or Android. More information is available on the official website - https://minecraft.net/

I should add that everything except the outdated Classic version and the demo of the full game - which are both free - has to be bought and paid for.
