My mom recently purchased an iPad 3G to use when she travels, but she's run into a roadblock. She is enrolled in online course at our local college, and some of the coursework (Pearson's MyReadingLab in particular) rely on Flash media. Is there any way around this? Can she still do her course work on the iPad?

You can install a flash player if you jailbreak it, but it is very slow and limited.

We have had a similar question before: http://www.makeuseof.com/answers/ipad-play-online-videos/The sad answer appears to be that if the college does not provide an app for the iPad to play its content, then it's not possible. Hopefully, there will be some more positive developments for flash media files in the future.
