I have windows vista. Now when using windows media player, sometimes some of the files come up with an error stating windows media doesn't recognize this file or the wrong codec used.

Do you know this error? It comes up a lot. Is there a software which will cure this?

Hi Bob,you probably don't have all necessary codecs installed. They are needed so that Windows Media Player can read and play your files.
