Any Pinterest fanatic will be ecstatic to hear that Pinterest has added several new organizational features specifically for boards. These changes come in light of the huge spike in the number of boards created on the platform.

More Tools to Tidy Up Your Pinterest Board

With the influx of users turning to Pinterest to create boards, the platform has made it even easier to organize them. A post on the Pinterest Newsroom revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a surge of newly-created boards on Pinterest.

Over just six months, the number of boards created on Pinterest has jumped 35 percent. There's also been a 44 percent increase in boards created in the beauty category, a 95 percent increase in women's fashion, and a 36 percent increase in home decor.

This growth has made Pinterest pay more attention to boards, leading to the addition of new ways for Pinners to interact with them.

First off, the platform is rolling out a Notes to self section for saved Pins. This way, you can jot down a quick reminder about a certain Pin, and you'll be reminded of why you Pinned it when you check back.

Additionally, any active boards that contain over 150 Pins will now come with a dedicated toolbar. The toolbar will make it much easier to sort through your Pins, and it also provides a list of "actions that can be taken on a board." You can use the toolbar to check notes, access to-do lists, organize Pins, and more.

Pinterest is also launching a board favorites feature. This allows you to mark certain Pins as your favorite by simply tapping the Star icon on the Pin.

You can then sort your boards by your favorite Pins, and your favorites will become readily available. This saves you from digging through dozens, or even hundreds of Pins just to find a single Pin.

All of these features are now available to Pinners around the globe.

Pinterest Gets Even More Organized

Pinners are known for having extreme organization skills, so these new tools will hopefully satisfy the need to keep things tidy.

With Pinterest noting that more people are creating boards surrounding "quarantine babies," home improvement, at-home workouts, and shopping, these tools can definitely help Pinners create the ultimate board.

The board favorites feature is probably the most helpful organizational tool of the bunch, and it's something that should've been added years ago. But now that it's finally been launched, we can't really complain.
