Google's Messages app has received many new features lately, and the company is continuously adding new features to it. According to a report, Messages will soon let you pin conversations and star important messages on your Android device.
Pin and Star Messages in Google Messages on Android
The folks over at XDA Developers dug into Google Message's latest APK file and found two new features that Google could roll out soon. One of these features will help users pin their conversations to the top, and the other one will allow adding a star mark to the messages in a thread.
Both these features have only been seen in the app's APK file, and these features aren't currently available in the app itself.
How Pinning and Starring Messages Works in Google Messages
If you use an instant messaging app like WhatsApp, you're probably aware of these new features. The aim of these features is to make it easier for you to find your important messages.
Pin a Conversation to the Top
According to the strings revealed in the Messages' APK file, you'll soon have the option to pin a message to the top of the Google Messages screen. This way, if you have an important message that you want quick access to, you can pin it to the top.
Then, whenever you open the Messages app, you'll see that message right at the top of your screen. You'll be able to unpin the message if you no longer need it at the top.
The revealed strings suggest that you'll be able to pin up to three messages in the app. This might change when the feature actually rolls out, though.
Star Favorite Messages
Another string reveals that you'll soon be able to star messages in a messages thread on your device. With this, you'll be able to quickly mark something as important and get quick access to it.
A starred message will display a star icon next to it. Later, Google might allow you to search for these starred messages in the app.

Google Messages is the default messaging app on many Android phones, and this means all those users are going to benefit from these new features. Give the features a go when they become available on your device.
