I want to input unicode language into Windows. The unicode developer uses Ekaya software for ".kmn" files. I don't like Ekaya software because it installs Visual Studio on my C:\ drive. I also don't want to try Tavultesoft Keyman and it is not free. Is there an open-source alternative?

John, *all* input in Windows XP or later is done in unicode if that's what the application accepts. You can add foreign language support through the 'Regional and Language Options' control panel. If you want to insert 'odd' characters (ones that are difficult to enter with a regular keyboard layout), try http://easyunicodepaster.wikidot.com/ which is open source.
