OnePlus has quickly risen to become one of the hottest brands in the Android space. The company has a big hole in its product line in the form of a smartwatch. Thankfully, that's going to change in early 2021, according to Pete Lau, the company's CEO.

The OnePlus Smartwatch Is Coming

Pete Lau jumped on Twitter to address the OnePlus fans who have been eagerly awaiting a smartwatch from the company. He confirmed that one is definitely in the works and even announced that it's coming in early 2021.

Unfortunately, the CEO didn't confirm any other details about the OnePlus smartwatch, so we'll have to wait until the company makes a more formal announcement to find out more.

We don't know what OS the watch will run. It would make sense for the company to use Google's Wear OS, but it's possible that OnePlus could develop its own OS for use in the watch.

OnePlus first teased a smartwatch back in 2016, but the company elected to focus on smartphones rather than release additional products. However, it has since released the OnePlus Buds, meaning it's ready to hop back into the wearable market.

We Couldn't Be More Excited

OnePlus has shown the ability to design gorgeous, functional devices, and we'd expect nothing less from the company's upcoming smartwatch. Unfortunately, we'll have to be patient while we wait to learn more.
