As the world has become more polluted, we have found it harder to breathe. Particulate matter in the air enters our lungs and is responsible for a range of health conditions. This has become clear over recent years. There also appears to be a link between pollution and the severity of COVID-19.

There are many air purifiers on the market, but most generate background noise, and few come equipped with modern features and smart home integration. At the virtual CES 2021 event, OneLife, a German health-tech company, took to the floor to launch the OneLife X air purifier.

What Is the OneLife X?

The OneLife X is a smart and silent air purifier for your home. The noise generated by other machines puts many people off investing in a unit, or, if they do, using it regularly. However, with air continually entering our body, ensuring a constant flow of clean air is essential. The device is made from environmentally-friendly materials, too.

The company opted for a bamboo outer shell, recycled plastics, and a washable filter. This means you don't have to replace the filter, minimizing waste, and saving you from a hidden recurring expense. The plasma filter is effective as well, eliminating particles of all sizes, including PM1.0 ultra-fine dust.

There are three options for interacting with your OneLife X; the built-in Display-Panel, the smartphone-based SmartControl, or with your voice via Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri. Using the Display-Panel, it's possible to power on the unit, start Auto mode, enable Night mode, and activate the higher-power Boost mode.

The OneLife X's smart features set it apart from many air purifiers available today. Notably, you can connect remotely to the purifier using the Android or iOS smartphone app. This allows you to modify the same settings as found on the Display-Panel even when you aren't physically next to the unit.

Built-in sensors also detect and record air quality data on the OneLife X. This syncs to your smartphone app for later analysis. Similarly, the app can highlight the most pressing or noteworthy detections. For instance, it can detect humidity, temperature, and VOC details and alert you to the most critical areas to address.

OneLife X Availability

For now, the OneLife X is a late-stage concept. In the near future, the company intends to start a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. Although there's no detailed timeline available, or pricing information, you can join the OneLife mailing list to be kept up to date with the OneLife X launch.
