Hi,
I have a webmail (.edu) account set-up with Mozilla Thunderbird. I can download my messages when using internet connection on campus but it cannot connect when from off-campus. Your advice would be appreciated.

Hi Surabhi,I suggest you get in touch with Tech support at your University. Every organisation will have a different mechanism for allowing (or not allowing such access), such as VPN, secure connection (SSL/TLS) or authentication etc. Even if they don't have specific instructions for Thunderbird, they should be able to give you enough information to proceed and you can always come back to this forum with the extra infor and get more advice!

Hi Surabhi, how do you connect to the internet when off-campus?Did you check the account setting in Thunderbird?Maybe you need to change your secure connection preferences for your .edu account profile in Thunderbird (> Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings). Can you send mail from off-campus?What operating system are you using Thunderbird on?
