Nothing has finally revealed the launch date for its first product. Coming July 27, Nothing will launch the Nothing Ear (1), a set of true wireless earbuds developed with leading Swedish audio manufacturers, Teenage Engineering.

Nothing Confirms July 27 Launch Date for Nothing Ear (1)

The announcement comes after company head Carl Pei previously revealed that Nothing's first product would arrive in June. At that time, the company was pushing towards a June 2021 launch date, with the company surging towards its audacious claims of releasing a product within the first few months of its existence.

A later tweet by Pei revealed that there were still some features to finalize on the Nothing Ear (1), and that the finished wireless earbuds would arrive "a bit later this summer."

Now, another tweet by Pei has confirmed that the Nothing Ear (1) launch date is officially set for July 27. His tweet even featured some other canny teasers to whet the appetite of Nothing followers, many of whom are desperate to get their hands on the new company's hardware before anyone else.

However, in a move that will both frustrate and intrigue, we still know nothing about the technical side or the hardware specs of the true wireless earbuds Nothing is building.

The company is keeping its cards very close, and much of the hype surrounding the Nothing Ear (1) actually stems from Carl Pei's previous successes as the leader of OnePlus, the flagship smartphone killing company.

Design is still top secret but what we can tell you is that Ear 1 combines notes of transparency, iconic form, and refined functionality. It is the starting point that will define the artistry, confidence and craftsmanship that will carry our products and services for years to come.

Previously, Nothing released an image of the Concept 1 concept earbud, which you can see below. Still, this concept image remains the only Nothing product image online.

Can the Nothing Ear (1) Live Up to the Hype?

As you might expect, the levels of hype are rising, but is that sustainable?

For Carl Pei, it seems to be the perfect way to launch any new business. The launch of the original OnePlus One caught the world's imagination, with pre-purchase passes swapping for cash and people begging other users for their sign-ups in online forums.

So it seems that far from being unsustainable, the drip-feed of information and data security surrounding the product is creating the perfect atmosphere for the Nothing Ear (1) launch.
