November's official sales figures are trickling in. As they do, we see that Nintendo has, once again, grabbed the "best-selling console" title. This continues a record-breaking run spanning over two years.

Nintendo Switch Is the Best-Selling Console... Again

In a press release, Nintendo confirms that sales of the Switch console have propelled it to best-selling console status in November. According to the press release, the Switch and Switch Lite enjoyed combined sales in excess of 148,000 units.

We already know that the Switch is the best-selling console of 2020. Seeing Nintendo adding another month to its two-year record makes one wonder whether this run will ever come to an end.

The figures come from Nintendo of Canada and are likely to predict the state of play in the US and the rest of the world. Those figures are yet to arrive, but we are predicting similar trends globally.

What Fueled These Record Nintendo Switch Sales?

Well, according to Nintendo of Canada, Black Friday was the primary reason for its smashing sales records yet again.

During Black Friday 2020, Nintendo released a bundle featuring the Nintendo Switch, a digital download code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership subscription.

This bundle netted buyers a hefty saving, so it is no surprise that the Switch sold so well in November.

Add to this the fact that there were chronic shortages of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, so there wasn't much in terms of competition for Nintendo. Presumably, the Mario creator has enough brand new Switch and Switch Lite consoles ready to hit stores at a moment's notice.

What Will December's Console Sales Look Like?

At this stage, it is difficult to say. Will the Nintendo Switch continue its winning streak and top the console sales charts once again? Or will sales of the PS5 be strong enough despite console shortages?

We may even see Microsoft enjoy a burst in sales but, given that there isn't any Xbox Series X/S stock at the moment, that seems unlikely. The fight, then, is between Nintendo and Sony, as the two Japanese brands go toe-to-toe in the console sale wars.

Our money is on Nintendo claiming December's best-selling console top spot once again. Nothing seems to be stopping Nintendo right now, as consumers continue to plow through units like the proverbial bulldozer.

Nintendo Switch Continues to Thrive

The Nintendo Switch is evidently an incredibly popular console. The most popular console, in fact.

The console's appeal has to be down to the fact that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy its wide range of different games.

As more titles come to Switch and Nintendo continues to improve the product by adding extra features, we can't see Nintendo's reign ending soon.
