After being announced a couple of months ago, Netflix is now available on Amazon Echo Show smart displays. You won't need to update your device to receive the app.

Netflix Is Available on Amazon Echo Show

As reported by AFTVnews, Netflix is now available for nearly every Amazon Echo Show smart display: the first gen, second gen, Echo Show 5, and Echo Show 8.

The only model that you can't get Netflix on is the Echo Spot, but this makes sense considering the small size of the screen. You'd be unlikely to want to watch Netflix on the circular device.

You can use Amazon's voice assistant to open the media streaming app. Simply say "Alexa, open Netflix". Alternatively, you can say "Alexa, open video home" to navigate to the Echo Show's video hub. You can also swipe from the right and tap the Video icon, then go to the Netflix app.

Other streaming services available on Echo Show devices include Prime Video, Hulu, and NBC. Netflix is by far the biggest though, so it's great that the Amazon Echo Show range now supports it.

Web services like YouTube are also available, but only through web browsers and these don't offer a good experience. Hopefully official apps will be available soon.
