If you're a fan of your household chores doing themselves, you may be interested in what Neato revealed during IFA 2020. The company took to the stage to announce its latest line-up of smart vacuums, revealing three models in total.

What Did Neato Reveal During IFA 2020?

In the IFA 2020 event, the CEO of Neato, Thomas Nedder, took to the stage to announce the company's range of new smart vacuum cleaners: the D10, D9, and D8.

The new range of Neato cleaners

All of the models have a unique "D" shape that you don't see in other automated cleaners. The flat part of the D allows the vacuum to get into those tight spots where a round vacuum would struggle.

Not only that, but the cleaners respect the user's privacy while doing their job. Some automated cleaners take photos of their surroundings to ensure they don't bump into obstacles. However, users may feel uneasy about a robot snapping pictures of their home and uploading it to the cloud.

Neato cleaners use patented LaserSmart technology to detect where obstacles are. Not only does this preserve users' privacy, but it also means the robot can operate in darkness.

The laser picks up on all obstacles---whether it's your sofa or your cat---and uses the information to guide the robot. It can also sense when it's approaching a drop, meaning you won't have to worry about robots tumbling down the stairs at 3am.

You can use a special Neato app to tell the robot where it can and cannot clean. If you'd rather not have a robot burst into your bedroom while you're trying to sleep, keep your room off-limits and let it clean the rest of the house.

The New Range of Cleaners From Neato

The real star of Neato's IFA 2020 presentation was the model at the top of the line---the D10. This robot vacuum cleaner features an authentic HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter, which catches up to 99.97% of all allergens.

The D10 uses Neato's patented LaserSmart technology but then enhances it with LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanning. This technology allows the D10 to map out its surroundings and create a 3D model of your home.

The D10 will also run for 150 minutes on a single charge, meaning you can get in over two hours of cleaning before needing to recharge the robot.

Neato also announced the D8 and D9 models. The D9 is akin to the D10, except it uses a HEPA-like filter that captures 99.5% of all allergens. It runs for 120 minutes.

Finally, the D8 uses a standard filter to clean the air. It can manage 90 minutes of cleaning before needing to recharge.

All of these robots will be released in the Fall of 2020 in America and Europe. The company has not announced prices as of yet. You can learn more about these cleaners over at the Neato website.
