If you have an existing system image for a computer and are creating a new one for the same computer, the new system image will overwrite the existing one. If you want to keep the existing system image, you can copy it to a different location before creating the new system image by following these steps: Navigate to the location of the system image System image files are stored in the folder C:WindowsImageBackupPCName. Copy the WindowsImageBackup folder to a new location. You can try acronis true image and give different name for each imagehttp://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/index.htmlMacrium Reflecthttp://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspIf you have a Seagate or Maxtor hard drive, (internal or external), you can use either Disk Wizard or MaxblastAlso for western digital there is acronis true image free version.

I don't use Windows System Imaging, but I imagine simply renaming the image should do the trick. For example: WindowsImageBackup to WindowsImageBackup 6_6_11 in [DRIVE LETTER]WindowsImageBackup[PC NAME] (i.e C:WindowsImageBackupMyComputer)Windows will still recognize it as being an image backup and will still work the same. I use third party tools to create images for me and then I burn them to a disk.More information here:- http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/save-multiple-copies-of-system-image/0d2ebd92-db7b-4741-9c91-8e712c35132a- http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/how-can-i-save-multiple-copies-of-a-system-image/f5e34ee8-2e86-4e1e-af90-7201ae3eef38
