MSI rounded up its CES 2021 announcements with a glut of new gaming hardware, including a new MSI gaming SSD among other goodies. MSI has already revealed its first 1000R curve gaming monitor along with a small mountain of new gaming laptops with some very impressive specs.

So, what did MSI keep up its sleeve at CES 2021?

MSI Showcases New GPU Design and New Gaming Mouse

The MSI Premiere 2021: Tech For the Future showcase provided some glimpses of where MSI gaming tech is heading in the near future. As ever, MSI had the hardware to show and tell, including SUPRIM, a new design for its GPU line, and the MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight gaming mouse.

Let's start with SUPRIM, a new design for MSI's GPU hardware, introduced alongside the recently launched Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs. GPUs built to MSI SUPRIM specification feature polished metal surfaces for better airflow, along with other GPU design tweaks to focus airflow into specific areas of the card.

The MSI TRI-FROZR 2S is a prime example of the SUPRIM design, which features new TORX FAN 4.0 designs that include pairs of fans to focus airflow toward the heatsink. Working in conjunction is MSI's Airflow Control, again designed to keep your GPU cool in high-performance situations.

As for the gaming mouse, the MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight uses a super lightweight design (the name is a giveaway!) to make gaming as comfortable as possible. It's equipped with an MSI FriXion Free Cable for maximum movement and features customizable accuracy settings up to 16,000 DPI.

The GM41 Lightweight is completely ambidextrous, too, meaning you can use it to game with either hand.

MSI Launching Gaming SSD Line

One of the most interesting announcements from the MSI Premiere 2021: Tech For the Future showcase was an MSI gaming SSD.

The gaming SSD will use a PCIe 4.0 x4 lane, enabling blazing fast read speeds up to 7000MB/s and write speeds up to 6900MB/s, helping it compete with some of the very best SSD storage options. For example, world leaders in storage, Kingston Technology, recently announced a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, which will deliver similar rates.

MSI's gaming SSDs will carry their own cooler and will arrive in various sizes up to 4TB. As yet, there is zero indication of a launch price for the new SSDs, not least because of the constantly changing nature of the NAND flash market.

It has been a comprehensive performance for MSI at CES 2021. Not content with delivering new GPU designs and new gaming mice, MSI also announced an eye-catching 1000R curve monitor earlier during the event. While curved monitors aren't everyone's cup of tea, the 1000R curve gaming monitor is certainly worth a look!
