MSI was one of the first major hardware manufacturers to blink at CES 2021, providing details of two new premium gaming monitors. The new monitors are pitched squarely at the premium gaming hardware space and have the specs to back it up, too.

MSI MPG ARTYMIS 343CQR 34" Gaming Monitor

The memorably named (or not!) MSI MPG ARTYMIS 343CQR is a top-tier ultrawide gaming monitor. Boasting a UWQHD resolution of 3440x1440 and a refresh rate of 165Hz, the 343CQR will suit most gamers' requirements.

The 343CQR also features MSI's Adaptive Brightness 2.0 (which automatically adjusts your monitor brightness according to the light level in the room), NightVision AI (to help differentiate and enhance dark areas on your screen), Smart RGB, and an AI Crosshair option.

Another interesting 343CQR feature is the 1000R natural curve. A 1000R curve monitor fits with the human body's natural eye-line, making it easier to view the entire monitor without moving your neck excessively.

Other common curved monitor radii include 1800R, 2300R, and even 3800R, where the latter is a very gentle curve.

MSI has form with 1000R curve monitors, too. At least, they almost do. At CES 2020, MSI revealed the MSI Optix MAG342CQR, which they mooted as their first 1000R curved monitor. When the MSI Optix MAG342CQR finally launched, it hit the market as a 1500R curve monitor instead.

MSI OCULUX NXG253R 24" Gaming Monitor

Next up, the MSI OCULUX NXG253R, arguably the more exciting gaming monitor of the pair.

That's because while the OCULUX NXG253R is "only" a 24" FHD Rapid IPS monitor, but it comes with a phenomenal 360Hz refresh rate. With most gaming monitors topping out at 240Hz, the 360Hz refresh rate is among the fastest on the market.

The OCULUX NXG253R also comes with two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, plus a whole host of USB and audio ports. It is G-Sync compatible, plus it comes with support for Nvidia's Reflex Latency Analyzer, which measures just how fast your screen updates after a movement or mouse click.

While these gaming monitors are exciting, there is more to come from MSI at CES 2021. The gaming hardware manufacturer is set to reveal more new hardware at their full MSI Premier 2021: Tech For The Future CES 2021 digital event, set for Wednesday 13 January at 11 am PST.
