Which free MS Office alternative for Windows will you rate the best in terms of User ratings? Highest marking for MS Office compatibility, similar GUI, feature list. (I am talking of the Windows installed products and leaving out the Cloud solutions like Google DOCs, MS Office Web Apps, Zoho Office, etc.)

1. Libre Office

2. Apache Open Office

3. Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012 (I must say I am pretty impressed with it as I only use Word, Excel and Powerpoint anyways)

Kingsoft Office Suite, works well on both a Windows and Android platform. For a free suite, it provides a very functional alternative to MS Office, and will read PDF's. Making it a simple choice for those of us who are looking for a seamless solution.Try it & you will be surprised. I've recommended it to my friends & they are now running it on their tablets, and phones ....It even works well under Windows 8Arthur

Kingsoft Office is an excellent product which is highly polished, so for some people I'd say it's the best product. However it does not include a PowerPoint equivalent and the free version does not support the latest formats (.DOCX, .XLSX) so if these features are important to you, I think LibreOffice would be a better bet.

Kingsoft Office Suite Free 2012 seems to be giving Powerpoint equivalent and it does seem to support the latest MS Office Formats. Check out http://www.kingsoftstore.com/kingsoft-office-freeware.html

That's terrific - they must have updated it when I wasn't looking! Well, as I haven't used this version I can't fully recommend it, but I'm sure it's every bit as polished as the previous version.
