I download 360p short length YouTube videos and convert them for mobile devices using "Freemake video converter". I just copy&paste the URL and rest of the job is done by the converter.

I have Intel Pentium D dual core 2.8 GHz, 96MB onboard graphics memory, 1GB DDR1 RAM, 250GB HDD. I have no graphics card. I have Asrock ConRoe 865GV motherboard.

During conversion process, my total RAM usage is nearly 300MB, but CPU usage is 98% - 100%.

The temperatures of different components are-

(collected using speedfan and speccy software)-

CPU - 64°C

AUX - 74°C

HDD - 55°C (warn 50°C - 55°C)

Whenever the conversion reaches 50%, my LCD monitor would turn off and it tries to turn on after every 5 minutes without any display. So I press the restart button, but it doesn't restart . So I turn the power off and I turn it on again. Everything is normal after boot. These things also happened while using "Any video converter" too.

Why does this happen?

Well it depends on you on how much you want to spend and better graphic card best video games. And also they must supports CUDACUDA helps in the processing of video files for encoding. It was meant to take the load off of the CPU and use the normally dormant GPU as a substitute. Nowadays we are on DirectX11 so think also that your graphic card will support DirectX12Go for nvidia GTX 570 like MSI GeForce GTX 570 1280MB Video Cardif expensive then you can go down to GTX 470 or to cheaper EVGA GeForce GTX295 Co-op Edition 1792MB DDR3 Graphics Card to nVidia GeForce 9800M GTX concening AMDRadeon HD 6000 series, AMD HD 6970 Graphics http://www.overclockers.com/amd-hd6970-graphics-card-review/Radeon HD 6870 is beter then Nvidia GTX 480ATI Radeon hd 5870 looks nicehttp://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/ati-radeon-hd-5000/hd-5870/Pages/ati-radeon-hd-5870-overview.aspxthen you can go down to Radeon HD 5850 to ATI Radeon™ HD 4800 http://game.amd.com/es-es/unlock_radeon4800.aspx?p=1

Sorry for the late reply. The issue was not fixed.Firstly, I updated my Intel onboard graphics driver and then installed XP codec pack. Then I installed the latest version of "Freemake video converter".I tried to download one 360p youtube video and convert it to avi format. After the download when Freemake started to convert it,my CPU usage shootup from 52% to 100%.After 8% conversion the temperatures of different components are ( using speedfan software)-System - 55°CCPU – 77°C AUX – 77°CHDD – 55°CThen the monitor turned off and the same issue continues.Regarding graphics card, they will not be compatible with Asrock ConRoe 865GV motherboard.

Well your processor can be responsible for this situation, onboard graphics uses the CPU to do much of the rendering, and steals ram from your system. There are other codecsCCCP Codechttp://www.cccp-project.net/XP Codec Pack 2.5.1http://www.free-codecs.com/xp_codec_pack_download.htmShark Codechttp://shark007.net/

Then having a DDR3 type graphics card from AMD or NVIDIA will reduce the CPU stress to great extend? If yes then which model of graphics card should be taken for doing video conversion and video splitting tasks?

Did you contacted Freemake video converterMy guess will be either to download a frsh copy of Freemake video converter or to switch to another software.so you have the same problem with Any video converter, then you might had deleted some reg keys while cleaning the pc.download klite codec pack and try again. Also reinstal graphic card video driver, then use Microsft fix it to fix some issues. http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/

Klite codec pack has been said to be have some issues to make the OS unstable. As I said before,I don't have any graphics card.Microsoft fixit doesn't support my OS(windows XP SP3).
