I have (don't know how but i did it) removed my System Preferences icon on my Mac and need it back. I do not have the cd to go that route any other way ?

To launch System Preferences, click on the Apple menu on the upper left hand corner and then click System Preferences. Once it has launched, click and drag the System Preferences dock icon further left and drop it. It will stay in the dock.

Nothing launches? Weird.System Preferences is also found under Applications>Utilities. Try that. If not, try fixing your permissions by going to Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility, click on your hard drive, repair the permissions and try again.
