Due to the coronavirus, Microsoft not only had to take its Ignite event to an online-only affair, but it also had to split it up into two separate events. The first half is already over, and the second part was set for an unknown date—until now.

Save the Date for Microsoft Ignite's Second Half

Microsoft Ignite attendees have been waiting since August 2020 to hear of this news, back when Microsoft announced Ignite's split into two events. At the time, all we had to go on was a vague "early next year," but now Microsoft has announced an official date.

The event date appeared on the Microsoft Ignite website. Across the top of the page, the website proudly declares the event's return on March 2-4, 2021.

If this is the first time you've heard of Microsoft Ignite, it's a great event that allows developers to rub shoulders with Microsoft's finest. COVID-19 forced the event to go online, and now people from anywhere in the world can hop in for free.

That's not to say that there's nothing for people who aren't huge Microsoft developers. During the first half of Ignite back in September 2020, Microsoft hinted that its next Office product wouldn't be subscription-based.

As such, if you have even a fleeting interest in Microsoft's products, it's a good idea to tune in and see what the software giant is up to.

The Conclusion to Microsoft Ignite 2020/2021

Microsoft Ignite fans have been waiting a while for the second event, and now you can mark March 2-4, 2021 on your calendar. Now all that's left is to wait and see what Microsoft announces during the event.

Did you know that you can now code in Visual Studio right in your browser? It's called Microsoft Visual Studio Online, and while it's not available to the general public, you can still apply to Microsoft and get invited.
