Another year, another piece of Microsoft clothing to keep yourself warm as the mercury plummets. The software giant has announced 2022's "Windows Ugly Sweater" (its words, not ours), and this year, the love-him-or-hate-him personal assistant Clippy is the star of the show.

Keep Warm This Christmas With Clippy

The sales for the Christmas 2022 Clippy sweaters opened today. Microsoft is using the funds to help support the College Success Foundation, which provides funding for low-income students so they can afford to study for a college degree.

You can see all the festivities and learn more about the foundation on the official Windows Holiday Sweater page, or you can cut to the chase and visit the Windows Ugly Sweater: Clippy Edition store page directly.

The sweater sells for $74.99, with up to $100,000 of income from the sweater going to the College Success Foundation.

A Fun Sweater for a Good Cause

If you're just learning about Microsoft's clothing line, this isn't a first-time thing. Back in 2020, Microsoft announced sweaters for Girls Who Code, with proceeds going towards helping equality in the tech world.

And while the company's definition of an "ugly" sweater is up for debate, it's undoubtedly a fun way to support charity and create a talking point at Christmas dinner at the same time. And given how these drives are typically a one-time deal, this will likely be your only chance to pick up an official Clippy sweater, so grab it while stocks last.

Microsoft's 2022 Ugly Sweater: A Yippee for Clippy

While Clippy soured a lot of people's moods in the 90s, he definitely looks the part on the Christmas 2022 ugly sweater from Microsoft. And if you love the peppy paperclip, grab a sweater and help support low-income students who are struggling to fund their own education.
