There is no auto download option in videos in WhatsApp you need to click to download. But images can be stored auto when they are opened in your smartphone.

Yes, WhatsApp is not peer to peer messenger, they can't really save the images on their services or any other media files like videos, music, and all. So it is saved in some hidden folder into your smartphone.http://temcam.com/about-me/

Your question is not very clear. Do you mean auto-download? You can change your settings to auto-download media when received. Also, media remains in your Whatsapp folder even when you delete it from the chat history.

if it is opened and running well if you configure the auto-download (it is saying selected media!) then will auto-download but if you deselect the Image, Audio and Video check boxes from each Mobile Data, Wi-Fi and Roaming options then you should be prompt to download or not to download. If it is not running then it should not download?
