The subscription-based comic book service, Marvel Unlimited, has relaunched, with a bevvy of exciting, new features.

Marvel Unlimited offers access to digital issues on your PC, laptop, smartphone, and tablet. Marketed as "all-new", what else does the relaunched Marvel Unlimited offer you? Here are the updated features sure to thrill Marvel lovers, whether they're die-hard fans, casual readers, or looking for jumping-on points after enjoying Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films.

1. Exclusive Infinity Comics

While Unlimited has always had exclusive comics, there's a real onus on storytelling unique to the platform now. Infinity Comics are weekly instalments, created specifically for Unlimited; as such, they use vertical scrolling.

Unlike traditional comics, you can simply scroll up and down to experience stories as if you're reading a webpage on your device.

The range already includes tales tying into popular series like Moon Knight, Amazing Fantasy, and the line-wide X-Men relaunch; MCU heroes like Captain America, Black Widow, and Shang-Chi; and "primers", i.e. retold origins for some favorite characters.

More than 100 exclusive issues will debut on Unlimited by the end of 2021.

2. Access Over 29,000 Issues

The archive of available comics has similarly been updated and boasts over 29,000 comics.

These cover the Modern, Bronze, Silver, and even Golden Ages—all the way back to Marvel Comics #1 (August 1939)!

No, not every issue is available, but you're more likely to find complete runs here than on rival services like ComiXology. And more are added every week.

Contemporary comics also have increased release dates, coming to the service just three months after physical copies hit shelves.

3. Follow Your Favorite Heroes and Villains

With all that at your fingertips, where do you start?

Don't worry, Unlimited has you covered. As soon as you sign in, you can select your favorite characters to stay up-to-date with. Just tap the icons of whoever you want to follow.

Think of it like assembling your own Avengers team.

You can save whole series, individual issues, and suggested Reading Guides to Your Library. That way, whenever you have a spare 10 minutes, you can open Unlimited and quickly find the next comic to read.

4. Unlimited Downloads for Offline Reading

Previously, you could only download 12 issues onto your device for offline reading. Beyond that, you needed to delete some to make more space. If you're a quick reader and have a long plane journey with no Wi-Fi, you might have been out of luck.

But not anymore. Because Unlimited now appropriately includes unlimited downloads.

Just find what you want to read, click on the vertical ellipsis by the issue title, then tap Download Issue. Then do it again and again and again.

Your only limiting factor is the storage on your own device.

5. Sync Comics Across Devices

You might have to stop reading an issue if the real world intrudes. Fortunately, you can pick it up again from exactly where you left off—from any device.

The "Continue Reading" section appears on the app's homepage, alongside a progress bar. So if you started reading Werewolf by Night #32 on your tablet, you can open Unlimited on your phone and find it easily. (Of course, if you want a refresher, you can always scroll back too.)

This applies to online reading, but you can still mark what issues you've read offline by tapping on the aforementioned vertical ellipsis then Mark as Read.

6. Get Marvel Insider Points

Marvel Insider is a rewards system for using Marvel products and services. For everything you do, like connecting on social media, watching videos, reading news, and playing games, you're given loyalty points.

And you also get points for anything you read on Marvel Unlimited as well!

Members are put into tiers based on the number of points they earn, then benefit from exclusive rewards, content, and gifts, plus discount codes.

Sadly, this only applies to US residents.

7. Refreshed Recommendations

Personalized recommendations are even better now too. Scroll down on the main screen to find Reading Guides For You, suggestions based on characters, creators, self-contained stories, legacy collections of milestone events, and more.

Unlimited immediately shows you Recommended Series, alongside lists of New This Week, Infinity Comics, and series tying into current hot properties like What If? (echoing the success of the Disney+ animation). The current Marvel's Stormbreakers section also highlights the "next generation" of storytellers, like Carmen Carnero, Patrick Gleason, and Peach Momoko.

My Library is improved too: tap on My Library > My Comics to see issues you've saved. Go on whichever you want then tap View Full Series to see those issues within their wider contexts; of course, you can then pile up further issues from the run.

Is Marvel Unlimited Worth It?

100 percent yes.

The app has always been a stellar service, but these latest improvements make this essential for anyone who loves Marvel. Excelsior!

Marvel Unlimited supports iOS 14, Android 6.0, and above, and costs $9.99 a month or $69 a year.
