If you use a Windows device that has a camera, you can take your camera settings with you when you switch to a different Windows device. This is best if you use a tablet or laptop and use the camera often, such as for video calls and conference meetings. You could also create a backup if you ever want to reinstall Windows.

Once you’ve set up your camera as you prefer, you can copy those settings for use on any Windows device. Here’s how to back up and restore your camera app settings on your Windows machine.

Why Back Up Your Camera App Settings?

The Camera app settings contain all the fine tweaks you've performed. These include image quality and resolution, video size and frames per second, and whether or not you see a framing grid to better position your frame. Once you set what you like, Windows saves these in a file, which you can copy and import to restore Camera app settings.
