My MacSpeech Dictate program doesn't detect the microphone on my headset. Everything seems to work alright with the program but the microphone isn't being detected. I've tried multiple headsets and reinstalling the program. Can you help me? Is it possible to use my internal microphone already built into my Mac now instead of the plantronics USB adaptor? Is that likely the problem? Is it possible to fix my platronics piece instead of buy another?

Use of a headset is always recommended, as the internal mic is very bad quality. Before messing aroudn with macspeech dictate settings, go into sound section of preferences and check the microphone is (a) correctly detected by your mac at all, and (b) currently selected as the default input device. Then report back!
