At Apple's "One More Thing" event, the tech giant revealed a remarkable addition to the MacBook family: a 13-inch Macbook Pro with Apple's brand new M1 chip. This compact, yet powerful device comes with superior performance in a small package.

The 13-Inch MacBook Pro Levels Up

The new MacBook Pro has a stunning 13-inch display and weighs in at only three pounds.

Despite its small size, the new MacBook Pro doesn't lack power. It comes with Apple's flagship M1 chip, which boasts 16 billion transistors, as well as a unified architecture for better efficiency and performance.

Thanks to the M1 chip, the 13-inch MacBook Pro's overall performance is lightning fast compared to older Pro devices. It has 2.8 times better processing power, along with an eight-core GPU that's five times faster than the previous generation. Apple even bragged that the device is three times faster than best-selling Windows laptops.

With all of this speed and processing power packed into such a small device, you'd think that its battery life is subpar. Surprisingly enough, the 13-inch MacBook Pro has a 17-hour battery life for wireless web browsing, and a 20-hour battery life for video playback, which is the longest of any Mac.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro also comes equipped with a superior built-in camera and microphone. The M1 processer allows you to take full advantage of the MacBook Pro's crisp image quality, as well as a studio-quality mic that allows you to be heard.

Better yet, the M1 chip is built to bring macOS Big Sur to the next level. You can expect the 13-inch MacBook Pro to instantly wake up from sleep mode, letting you get to work faster than ever.

And in terms of storage, you can expect up to 2TB of SSD storage, and up to 16GB of memory. The 13-inch Pro also supports USB 4 and comes with up to four Thunderbolt ports.

Like the previous generation of Pro models, the 13-inch MacBook Pro features a Magic Keyword, touch ID functionality, as well as a sleek Touch Bar.

The Best MacBook Pro Yet

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is the most advanced MacBook Pro yet. Its small size, coupled with groundbreaking performance easily makes it a must-have for any Apple fan.

The entry-level 13-inch Pro starts at $1,299 for 256GB SSD storage and 8GB of memory. Meanwhile, the model in the highest tier will cost you $1,999. It's now available for purchase on Apple's website, but it won't ship until November 17, 2020.

Apple also debuted an M1-powered MacBook Air, which might be more of interest if you're on a tighter budget.
