Lypertek is releasing a substantial upgrade to its popular PurePlay Z3 (Tevi) wireless earbuds, delivering better Bluetooth, upgraded audio modes, wireless charging, and more.

Although Lypertek isn't a particularly well-known name in audio manufacturing, their existing models are very well reviewed and fly somewhat under the radar, masked by the established names with big brand recognition—but that might change with the launch of the PurePlay Z3 2.0.

Lypertek Reveals PurePlay Z3 2.0 Upgrade

Lypertek is launching a second generation of the PurePlay Z3 (also known as Tevi), bringing with it some interesting hardware upgrades.

First up, and perhaps the most interesting part of the upgrade, is the introduction of Bluetooth 5.2, the latest version of the ubiquitous data transmission protocol. The PurePlay Z3 2.0 earbuds come equipped with a Qualcomm QCC3040 chip, too, allowing the earbuds to use the aptX and ACC high-quality audio codecs, which will save power and reduce audio latency.

Lypertek is also launching a companion app for its audio products. The PureControl app will enable Lypertek users to create custom EQs for the PurePlay Z3 2.0, using seven frequencies for personalization.

Furthermore, the PureControl app will introduce a new "LDX Audio" mode. Lypertek claims LDX Audio mode will bring "an improved soundstage with added depth, increased definition, and a greater sense of space."

The new app, available for Android and iOS devices, also enables Hear Through mode, enabling audio passthrough while using the earbud's active noise cancellation (ANC) feature.

The PurePlay Z3 2.0 case also receives an upgrade as part of the overall package. The case now supports Qi wireless charging and is also available in white.

Under the hood, the PurePlay Z3 is still powered by its existing 6mm graphene drivers, along with one of the earbud's standout features: the ridiculous 80-hour battery life. Now, that battery life is split between the earbuds (10 hours) and the charging carry case (70 hours), but it is still one of the most substantial available on the market right now.

More Features, Great Sound, Same Price

When a company launches a new bit of hardware, you expect prices to rise. However, Lypertek hasn't pushed the price of the PurePlay Z3 2.0 any higher than the previous version, and it launches for $99.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for our upcoming hands-on review of the Lypertek PurePlay Z3 2.0. If they're anything like the previous version of the Tevi, or the Lypertek SoundFree S20 wireless earbuds we reviewed earlier this year, Lypertek will be onto another winner.
